It’s a beautiful and peaceful evening, one of these summer evenings when you allow yourself to immerse very deep in your dreams.
There is a gentle breeze in the air, the night is almost here, - warm, profound and calm. The scent of the vanilla candle that I have outside on the coffee table, reminds me of the Sunday mornings when as a child, I used to wake up with a sweet smell that came from my mother’s kitchen.
Even a candle can take you back to the comfortable places from your past.
If you like to recreate fond memories, try our selection of vanilla and chocolate scented candles featured at www.homedecorbylulu.com.
Any small final touch would impact your home decor. Three or four candles in repetition would create a focal point on your summer coffee table.
The sound of the birds, water sprinklers and the noisy lawn mower remind you that the summer is finally here.
On a crisp weekend morning, my husband and I go out on our back yard patio with a coffee and a newspaper and maybe a knitted throw if the morning air is still a little bit nippy.
Now that the summer is here, many of us have moved our living rooms outdoors.
We’ll have lunch and supper outside every time we have the chance.
In the evening when the mystical magic of the night breaks through we enjoy a glass of red wine and talk about the latest news of the day.
We hope that you allow us to help you discover great ways to have your home decor give you the warmth and comfort that you deserve. We want you to have a place that you feel secure in so you can relax and spend quality time with your family.

This unique hand painted glass candy dish is part of our “Timeless Collection”, Fantezia.
The reason I call this our “timeless collection”, is because I truly believe that the design will never go out of style. The soft combination of colors that the artisans had chosen for this line, match anybody’s home decor. If the accent color in your room is red, the color red from this candy dish picks up and is enhanced by that room accent color.
This candy dish comes with a nice lid, which gives that stunning finish look.
Over the years, our clients have proven our statement over and over again by coming back to our store to add to their collection with pieces such as wine glasses, martini glasses, decanters, bowls and oil lamps. This candy dish is a beautiful piece that could serve as a housewarming gift or as a wedding gift.
A cocktail glass or martini glass, is a drinking glass with a cone-shaped bowl on a stem above a flat base, used to serve a cocktail or champagne. The stem allows the drinker to hold the glass without affecting the temperature of the drink.
We love these unique hand painted martini glasses in the Valencia Line because they are not only stunning, but the quality and the style make them a conversation piece at any party.
The Valencia Collection is a fabulous, conversation invoking line, hand painted with a specialized brush in a combination of yellow, red and blue pigment. After painting, a golden “paste” is applied to the surface in a method that makes this line stand out from so many other hand painted lines.
Individually designed by Romanian glassblowers and then painted with subtle abstract designs, these art works inspire emotion and are both decorative and functional.
The art of making perfume began in ancient Egypt but was developed and further refined by the Romans and the Arabs. The first form of perfume was incense.
The word perfume comes from the Latin phrase, “per” meaning “through” and “fumus” meaning smoke.” The French later gave the name perfume to the pleasant smells that drift through the air from burning incense. France quickly became the European center of perfume and cosmetic manufacturing.
Perfumes were used primarily by royalty and wealthy people.
The use of perfume in France grew steadily. By the 18th century, aromatic plants were being grown in the Grasse region of France to provide the growing perfume industry with raw materials. Even today, France remains the centre of the European perfume design and trade industry.
Egyptians took pride in the beautiful containers that held their perfumes. Those perfume bottles were things of great beauty. The containers were made from materials such as alabaster, glass, ebony, and porcelain.
Europeans have long been known for their talented glass blowers. They came up with their own exquisite and elegant collections. At homedecorbylulu.com we are happy to feature a one of a kind collection of hand blown perfume bottles that embodies the unique imagination and expertise of glass artist Ion Tamaian. All these beautiful glass perfume bottles are stunning and sophisticated. It would make a perfect gift for any occasion.
When you choose a neutral palette for your home, to keep it interesting you have to pay attention to the mix of textures.
We love these cotton throws that never go out of style! These natural colors are classic and can compliment your room’s color palette. Observe the details of these 100% cotton throw. You will appreciate the intricate artisan’s work that went into the creation of these unique throws.
To create a fabulous new look of your home, you have to consider keeping thinks very simple. We often hear designers saying, “less is more”. From the wall colors to the home décor accents we choose, we have to make sure the room looks natural and appealing.
Something that stands out on its own, is a unique home décor accent piece, like this mango wood vase, which is one of my favorites. It is intricately and delicately hand carved in Thailand. It has beautiful and simple lines, perfect for any room with a modern style but with a certain level of softness. Its beauty will be enhanced by a light colored floor.
Any of you that have had a chance to visit Romania or know people from this old country probably know by now that Sunday is a day for rest that is reserved for spending quality time with family and friends maybe enjoying a leisurely lunch or supper together. When I was a child and still leaving with my parents, I couldn’t wait for Sundays to come. Traditionally my mother would prepare the table getting us kids involved in the day. I remembered my father saying “take out the fancy wine glasses, it’s Sunday!” Yes, this is the Romanian way. When you have guests you make sure that the beautiful etched crystal is out and on the table.
I didn’t no at that time that one day thousands of glasses will pass my hands.
Now, I am more then happy to tell you that one of the connections that we have with Romania is working with some of the best Romanian glass artisans.
Most North Americans know about Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Bran Castle set in Transylvania, but what they don’t know is that Transylvania is a province of Romania. In western imagination, Transylvania evokes a dark land of black magic and vampires.
Transylvania and Romania is more then that, it is a country reach in history, rustic beauty and hospitality.
It is also a country that has a long history in glassblowing.
The Romanian artisans have passed their skills from generation to generation for hundreds of years.
For us, it is very important that we handpicked each product. The quality of the glass is one of the best produced in Europe. Each piece is individually mouth blown and hand painted and shouldn’t be confused with cheap copies or machine made product. The pigments that have been used to color the glass are from Germany.
At homedecorbylulu.com we feature unique lines of glassware and decorative art glass, from the traditional red wine glasses, flutes, oil lamps, bowls, plates, candle holders, candy dishes, decanters, vases to the intricate, contemporary pieces of art, we made sure that we have the right product to satisfy your needs.
Now, you can choose from our most popular lines to brighten up your table and make your guests feel welcome.
Fantezia Line – our best seller over the years, perfect for a wedding gift.
