Yes, it’s true. Most people think of an area rug as something to place on the floor, but a unique rug can also make a gorgeous wall ornament. While placing a plain old piece of shag carpet on the wall will get you a lot of strange glances, area rugs with unique patterns or even fabrics can draw the furniture together and give the room a certain appeal. If you’re hoping to create an aesthetic of culture and refinement in your room, a Persian area rug makes a great wall ornament. If you’d rather imitate the décor of a cozy ski lodge, a sheepskin area rug works great.
Area rugs come in thousands of different styles, so there’s no real danger of not being able to find a rug that suits the décor in the room. While you might not find the exact rug you’re looking for in a retail store, shopping online you will find hundreds more designs and a lot more unique designs than you would at a retailer.
