Caring for Wooden Candle Holders

While the majority of candle holders are made of glass, acrylic, or some sort of metal material, there are a number of candle holders made of wood. These versions utilize many different kinds of wood from teak to pine. Whatever type of wood you use, however, it’s important that you know how to care for them, because it does vary from the care needed for other types of candle holders.

To that end, wood candle holders are best cleaned by using a rag dipped in warm water and mild soap. It should always be dried as soon as possible. Also be aware that many wooden candle holders will naturally darken over time, so if you find that it looks different, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s dirty, ruined, or otherwise destroyed. If you feel it would enhance the look of the candle holder, you can always polish it with any number of wood polishes.
